what do you think? think I can do it? anyone want to join the challenge and share your ideas??
give me some tips as I am a recipe shopper and turns out this is the worst way to make the dollar stretch.
A place where our little group of mommies come and share their successful meals, tips, and ideas.
kelly is that you???
ReplyDeletei want to try too.. though formula can't count. i think its going to be hard and going to require driving around to different places to get the best deals.
how did you come up with 350??
yeah, me lisa.
ReplyDeleteJenny does it. and says that she can stick to it sometimes. she goes over sometimes too.
I think this is a good budget to stick to...I stick to $400/month. I just did my last shop for the month of May and my may shopping recipes came to about $380.00 and that included diapers. A box of diapers last us just over a month. Superstore usually has a diaper sale once per month and a box will cost $26.99. I am the coupon queen though! If you buy cheerios there is often a $2.00 off diaper coupon on the box..so I save it for when they are on sale and get a big box for $24.00. McGavins Bread Basket is my new place to buy bread...I usually always get the organic squirrley bread for just over $1.00. We now eat chicken thighs which are so good on the BBQ or in stir frys and they are way cheaper than chicken breasts.
ReplyDeleteok starting June one i'm going to take the challenge, especially since we are trading in the CRV today and buying a 04 Pilot and i need to get smarter on my budgeting.

there is an article sort of about this in my best health mag and it had an idea it said some times its cheaper to buy fruit in bulk though it can be too much for small families so share with other families.... so i was thinking i wonder if we should look at doing a costco shop together and split the cost of some veggies and fruit??
ReplyDeletetomorrow is pay day so i'm going to start the challenge and i'm also challenging sean and i to not use our bank cards and instead get a allowance once a week. i've never budgeted but i'm excited to try.
